I Feel Complete With You

Hannah & Dan's Wedding at Itasca Country Club

Hannah & Dan's celebration at Itasca Country Club was laid-back, family-oriented, and genuinely fun from beginning to end. Having nearly everything take place at one location gave everyone a chance to settle in and enjoy the day, while giving us more time to focus on the moments that actually mattered.

They were goofy together, comfortable around each other, and never seemed too concerned with making every second of their wedding feel overly serious or perfect. They simply seemed happy to be spending the day together.

A Morning Surrounded by Family

Before joining us at Itasca Country Club, Dan and Hannah began their wedding day at home with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony surrounded by family.

Many joined later at the Itasca Country Club, where Hannah got ready upstairs with her bridal party while Dan and the guys prepared downstairs near the bar.

An Emotional First Look

Once the couple was ready, we brought them outside along the side of the country club for their first look. It ended up being one of our favorite moments to capture.

For a couple that spent so much of the day laughing and being goofy with each other, their first look brought out a different side of them. Seeing each other for the first time made the emotions of the day feel real.

It also gave the two of them a few minutes together before everything else began.

It seemed fitting for the two of them. Their relationship didn't feel performative or overly serious. They simply seemed completely comfortable being themselves around one another.

After the first look, we headed onto the golf course with Photographer Rachael Watson and her team for portraits.

There's something about a golf course wedding that always looks great on camera. The open course, greenery, and surrounding landscape gave us a beautiful backdrop for Dan and Hannah's portraits.

An Itasca Country Club Ceremony

Dan and Hannah exchanged vows surrounded by their friends and family in one of Itasca Country Club's indoor ceremony spaces. Afterward, guests moved outside for cocktail hour while family photos continued around the property.

Live music from Moeller Music Events accompanied the ceremony and cocktail hour, with cello and guitar adding a completely different atmosphere to those quieter parts of the celebration. Planner Alyssa from Sarah Kathleen Events also helped keep everything moving behind the scenes.

A Dance Floor for Every Generation

Following introductions, cake cutting, dinner, speeches, and first dances, the dance floor opened.

Forever Young DJs had everybody absolutely showing off their moves. It was one of those dance floors that was simply fun to watch.

There wasn't a feeling that people were waiting around for something else to happen. Everyone was participating, laughing, dancing, and enjoying the night together.

Florals from Branching Out Chicago helped bring the spaces together throughout the day, while Delish Cakes created both the wedding cake and dessert table. Hannah's wedding-day look was completed with hair by Grace and makeup by Tamara Makeup.

Combined with a vendor team that was genuinely enjoyable to work alongside, the reception felt like a fitting ending to an already easygoing day.

A Wedding That Never Took Itself Too Seriously

When we think back on Dan and Hannah's wedding, what stands out most isn't necessarily one elaborate detail.

It's how comfortable everyone seemed. Their families were welcoming. Their vendors worked well together. Their guests weren't afraid to get on the dance floor. And Dan and Hannah spent their wedding day doing what they seemed to do best: enjoying each other's company. There was just as much laughter and goofiness between them. Sometimes you just need the people you love, a beautiful place to celebrate, a packed dance floor, and someone beside you who makes you feel complete.

Thanks for having me - Chris
